Detailed Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival & private welcome in Mara Conservancy

Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO), where a Legacy representative welcomes you and assists with your private transfer. Settle into your accommodation, recover from the journey and meet your safari specialist or guide for an unhurried briefing. We review the route, daily rhythm, luggage, dietary needs and any optional experiences so you begin the safari knowing exactly what to expect. If your flight arrives early, the remainder of the day stays deliberately light rather than trying to force sightseeing into your arrival schedule.

Stay: Mara conservancy camp   ·   Meals: Dinner
Day 2

Full day in Mara Conservancy

Today is devoted to Mara Conservancy, giving you enough time to experience the area without rushing onward. Your private guide plans the strongest hours around local conditions and your interests, with the option of an early start, a relaxed lunch break or a longer full-day outing. Expect a quieter conservancy safari with flexible game viewing and, where permitted, activities such as off-road tracking, walking or night drives. The emphasis is on space, excellent guiding and unhurried wildlife observation. Where conditions and park rules allow, time on foot adds a closer look at tracks, plants, smaller wildlife and the landscape. Because the journey is private, the day can be adjusted if a special sighting, weather change or unexpected opportunity deserves more time. Return to your lodge or camp in the late afternoon or early evening for dinner, rest and a clear briefing on the next stage of the safari.

Day 5

Travel to Maasai Mara & first exploration

After breakfast, leave Mara Conservancy and continue privately toward Maasai Mara. The transfer is treated as part of the journey rather than lost time: your guide plans sensible comfort stops, points out changes in landscape and, where appropriate, includes wildlife or cultural stops en route. After arriving and settling in, begin a full private safari across the Mara ecosystem, following big cats, plains game and seasonal migration movement. The day can be split into morning and afternoon drives or run as a full-day exploration with a picnic. The timing remains flexible so the day can respond to road conditions, seasonal wildlife and how you are feeling. Where conditions and park rules allow, time on foot adds a closer look at tracks, plants, smaller wildlife and the landscape. Return to your lodge or camp with time to refresh before dinner and a briefing for the following day.

Day 7

Final morning & onward departure

Enjoy a final unhurried morning in Maasai Mara. Depending on your flight or onward arrangements, there may be time for a short wildlife drive, relaxed breakfast or simply time to enjoy the lodge before departure. Your guide then coordinates the private transfer to Nairobi or your final Kenyan airport and confirms the timing with enough margin for check-in. If you are extending the journey to another East African country, the coast or a mountain program, the handover is arranged as part of the same itinerary so there is no uncertainty between services. Your final documents will show the exact transfer, meal and luggage arrangements for this day.
